Abstract
The review of Kristina Fjelkestam’s Det sublimas politik: emancipatorisk estetik i 1800-talets konstnärsromaner [Sublime politics: emancipatory aesthetics in nineteenth-century Künstlerromane] focuses on how the author makes use of the sublime as a means to connect three women writers use of the Künstlerromane in their political, emancipatory projects. On the other hand, the review also deals with Fjelkestam’s aim to develop the sublime as an analytical tool, in order to link aesthetics to the broader area of cultural theory.
