Abstract
The article analyses strategies developed by Ukrainians who arrived in France since 2022 and who have to deal with the difficult real estate market trying to find a place to live. Going beyond the structuralist framework, the authors investigate subjective motivations and attitudes that combine with structural factors to produce different strategies of adaptation to the French housing market. These span from strict compliance with the legitimate integration roadmap imposed by the authorities to informal strategies of making-do, passing by the explicit refusal to adapt to the new situation.
