Eyja
(2020)- Abstract
- Eyja is a participatory piece about what it means to belong. The work is located in Hrísey, a fragile settlement where life and living conditions are fragile. Life on the island reflects the global projects facing the world in 2020. Visitors are invited to the island to examine their own ideas about self and society and about time and place.
We sail from Árskógssandi and the work begins when you get on board. In the work, visitors are invited to contemplate the pressing themes of human society through symbolic actions, thought provoking and by walking through installations. In the work, the guest reflects himself in a staged journey through the life and values of the hosts. - Abstract (Swedish)
- A site specific and participatory performance about what it means to belong. Performed in Hrísey, an island off the north coast of Iceland, with the participation of the islanders.
