- Abstract
- The chapter explores how the concept of suitable housing changes throughout the life course. It argues that suitable housing for older adults is not only a matter of accessibility and care provision, but also of preserving the home's identity, dignity, and way of life. At the same time, when the home becomes a workplace for healthcare professionals, an ethical dilemma emerges between occupational health and safety requirements and respect for the lived life embedded in the home.
