Channel Estimation using Processing In Memory Based on System Identification Technique
(2024) 11th International Conference on Wireless Networks and Mobile Communications, WINCOM 2024 In Proceedings - 11th International Conference on Wireless Networks and Mobile Communications, WINCOM 2024- Abstract
Accurate channel estimation is crucial for the design and implementation of effective equalization and beamforming techniques, contributing to the overall performance of wireless communication systems. This paper presents a novel approach for channel estimation based on an unknown system identification technique. The underlying idea is to employ the processing-in-memory (PIM) technique to implement a low-complexity adaptive unknown system identification scheme. To this end, memristive devices are used as key components, which execute essential multiplications and additions in channel estimation with minimal complexity, following Ohm's law and Kirchhoff's current law. The programmability of memristive devices provides the proposed scheme... (More)
