Abstract
In 2019 Olga Tokarczuk, an outstanding Polish writer received Nobel Prize in literature. The prize appeared as a culmination of her growing popularity outside Poland, including Sweden. By 2019 almost all her books were translated into Swedish and she... (More)

By 2019 almost all her books were translated into Swedish and she won recognition not only among literary critics but even among the broad reading audience. By following the reviews in the Swedish press, from 2005 to present, and by interviewing her translators and editors we are reconstructing the complex process of reception and recognition of Tokarczuk´s writing in Sweden. We try to answer the questions about the sources of her popularity in the Swedish context that ultimately assured her the highest prize in the literary world (Less)
