- Administrative law in the Swedish understanding forms the field of law regulating the activities of public authorities and others carrying out activities within the public sector. As in other Nordic and continental legal systems, the field is commonly divided into two parts. General administrative law (allmän förvaltningsrätt) covers the common principles and legal provisions applicable as default rules. Also administrative court procedure has traditionally been treated as a part of general administrative law. Special administrative law (speciell förvaltningsrätt) provides rules applicable in special fields.
