Association between quality of life and death rituals was analyzed with linear regression. Of the 324 relatives, a minority indicated that their loved one's funeral (17%) met their wishes. Not being able to carry out the funeral as desired was significantly associated with a lower quality of life ( p  = 0.006). The experiences during the pandemic revealed that it is important for people to perform death rituals according to their wishes.
