Abstract

A successful vaccination program depends on secure vaccine storage as well as safe and effective vaccine delivery. An Internet of Things (IoT) based vaccine distribution and monitoring model, which is used to transport and monitor vaccines to locations where they will be properly kept for eventual use, is developed and tested. Coronavirus (COVID-19) was first identified in December 2019 in Wuhan city of China, but it is still spreading throughout the world. The impact of this virus is minimized by educating people about its causes and how it spreads is the best way to avoid and slow down transmission. Different technologies have already been developed to minimize the impact of COVID-19, and the Internet of Things (IoT) is one of them.... (More)

Different technologies have already been developed to minimize the impact of COVID-19, and the Internet of Things (IoT) is one of them. It is a very popular technology that is being used to fight this virus. The vaccination process is already running across the world; maintaining the temperature of the vaccine during the supply chain logistics is the most important task to maintain the effectiveness of the vaccine. In this paper, an IoT-based architecture has been proposed for the effective monitoring and distribution of the vaccine. The developed model can also be utilized for the effective distribution of various types of vaccines and to minimize the wastage of vaccines.
