Multilingualism, Self-Perception and European Belonging: Erasmus Students’ Experiences of Language in Mobility

Abstract
This thesis explores whether people who participate in the European mobility program of Erasmus are capable of developing a bias due to the practice of different languages on a daily life basis. The research is also based on the three pillars that the Erasmus programme is built around: mobility, cooperation and support to policy development.
A semi- structured interview with participants to this educational program will allow one to get deeper into the personal experience of the attendants and to assess the Sapir-Whorf empirical basis.
Findings suggested that the theories used were able to match the correspondent answer to the interviews given. Thanks to the latter, also more details about how multilingualism modify the structure of... (More)
