The objective is to gain knowledge about how staff within the school system perceives the process of placement and whether this view influences and even contributes the driving forces to evolve. Therefore, I have chosen to use qualitative method for research to provide as comprehensive data as possible among a small number of professionals working within different educational institutions. The used approach is above all based on stigma theory, used as a tool to treat the gathered material.
The results showed that different professions bear the stamp of the institution they belong to.
The traditional school and the alternative school differ in their primary goals with alternative education and, in view of this, work from totally dissimilar perspectives. The overall goal of alternative schooling according to the law, i.e. to as soon as possible after a special measure
relocate the child into the ordinary school, is not achieved. (Less)
