(2005)Department of Economics
- Abstract
- this thesis evaluates what impact thr regionally integrated area of MERCOSUL has had on the investment flows in the automotive industry in Argentina and Brazil. The aanalysis is based on the theoretical framework on FDI and regional integrataion developed by Kokko & Blomström and interviews with MNCs in the region. We discuss what the motives have been for the automotive industry to locate in the region and how the production strategies have changed since MERCOSUL was created in the beginning of the 90s.
