This study employed a qualitative method. It presents the results of open-ended interviews conducted with five host families and two offenders living with families.

The results of this study show that firstly everyday situations with the host family were crucially important, secondly the clients became part of the families as a family member. The approach these Christian families had, permeated the atmosphere at home and the clients at home, felt both welcome and safe. This approach was the foundation for rehabilitation of the clients.
