Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the views of students and teachers, at a middle school in the south of Sweden, about the efficacy of different anti-bullying interventions. The purpose was also to compare these two groups, and look at differences within the student population when it came to their sex, age and involvement in bullying. The sample consisted of 375 students and 25 teachers. The most important finding in this study was that the teachers rated the interventions as more effective than the students. Also the students in the sixth grade rated the interventions as more effective than students in the ninth grade. On the other hand no significant difference could be found due to the students´ sex or if the students were... (More)

Also the students in the sixth grade rated the interventions as more effective than students in the ninth grade. On the other hand no significant difference could be found due to the students´ sex or if the students were involved in bullying or not. Another important finding was that teachers and students seem to have a lot in common due to which interventions they rate as effective and less effective. This tendency held true when comparing all the groups in the study, and was also the case for the student subgroups, divided by age, sex and involvement in bullying. The possibility of using an intervention and implementing it in a good way is bigger if there’s a positive attitude towards the intervention. The attitudes of teachers and students when it comes to common interventions give us information about the interventions that can be used without too many obstacles in the implementation. The knowledge of students´ and teachers´ attitudes about different interventions can contribute to less bullying in schools.
