- Abstract
- The aim of this study is to investigate a possible existence of cosmopolitan values compatible with nationalist ones. It is a fact that nationalism is a fast growing phenomenon in our political world and it grows with the numerous nationalist parties in the European parliaments apparently shown in recent elections. Most scientists and politicians agree on the fact that the authority of national governments has been weakened and the European Union has emerged into a quasi-federal constitution. The political scientific problem should be answered by demonstrating vagueness and ambiguity of the political ideologies. This is accomplished by finding the origin of the value conflict.
