Abstract
This essay is about education, development and equality. Its main purpose is to examine the relationship between education and development, and how this relationship is understod by the international community, and particularly the UN. The essay also examines the impact education may or may not have on eqality. By analyzing data presented by the UNDP and comparing reports from different organs of the UN such as the CRC, a comparison is made between four countries, the Netherland, Qatar, Burundi and Yemen. These countries were choosen due to their values in the Human Development Index and the Gender Inequality Index.
