I föreliggande studie har fyra professionella musikalartister intervjuats, som alla har medverkat i en svensk uppsättning av musikalen Spring awakening. Studien berör hur de arbetar med den personliga instuderingsprocessen fram till att de sceniska repetitionerna börjar. Det är en kvalitativ intervjustudie som syftar till att öka medvetenheten kring den förberedande instuderingsprocessen inom genren musikal ur ett lärandeperspektiv. Resultaten av min studie utgörs av kunskap om hur musikalartister går tillväga för att förbereda och nå fram till en rolltolkning som är mogen att vidareutvecklas på scenen tillsammans med en ensemble. Denna kunskap är sammansatt och kan hänföras till både musikaliska, litterära och sceniska fält.

Title: The Study of Musical Theatre – An interview study with four professional musical theatre performers
The present study involves interviews with four professional musical theatre performers, which all have participated and performed in a Swedish production of the musical Spring awakening. The study concerns their work process involving the personal rehearsal process up until the scene rehearsals begin. This is a qualitative research study of which its purpose is to raise awareness for the preparation rehearsal processes in the musical theatre genre, from a teaching perspective.
The results involve knowledge of how musical theatre performers approach and prepare to reach a role of interpretation that is ready to be developed further... (More)
