Title: Eurhythmics at professionaldance educations. A study based on four persons' experiences of eurhythmics and music education at professional dance educations.
This qualitative study examines dance students' needs for music education at professional dance educations. The study's empirical work is based primarily on interviews with four informants with longterm professional experience of dance in various fields. In this study the informants’ experiences in dance and music and their answers to if eurhythmics as a music education is needed or not at professional dance educations, is the fundament for the results. This qualitative study examines dance students' needs for music education at professional dance educations. The study's empirical work is based primarily on interviews with four informants with longterm professional experience of dance in various fields. In this study the informants’ experiences in dance and music and their answers to if eurhythmics as a music education is needed or not at professional dance educations, is the fundament for the results. The study presents eurhythmics as music teaching method in short, from a historical as well as practical perspective. Another subject that is processed is how music education is executed today, which is investigated by documents from various courses from professional dance educations in Sweden. The conclusion is in short that dance students at professional education do not need eurhythmics to become good dancers. There are elements that are processed in eurhythmics that may be well suited in the dance students' music education, but it takes more than a master in eurhythmics education to satisfy the needs dance students have, according to this study. The results of this study clearly show that music education is very important for dance students. The music education should be adapted to dance as an art form and executed with an awareness of its artistic development, and based on the close relationship between dance and music. (Less)

Genom denna kvalitativa studie undersöks dansstuderandes behov av musikundervisning vid högre dansutbildningar. Studiens empiri är främst baserad på intervjuer med fyra informanter med lång tids yrkeserfarenheter av dans inom olika områden. Genom informanternas uttalan-den om dans och musik bearbetas frågeställningen om rytmik som musikpedagogisk metod kan varaen hjälp för danselever att närma sig musik eller ej.Via denna frågeställning ställs även frågan om det är viktigt för danselever att ha musikundervisning och varför.I studien presenteras rytmik som musikpedagogisk metod i korta drag, både från ett historiskt och prak-tiskt perspektiv.Ett annat ämne som bearbetas är hur musikundervisningen ser ut idag, vilket undersökts genom... Genom denna kvalitativa studie undersöks dansstuderandes behov av musikundervisning vid högre dansutbildningar. Studiens empiri är främst baserad på intervjuer med fyra informanter med lång tids yrkeserfarenheter av dans inom olika områden. Genom informanternas uttalan-den om dans och musik bearbetas frågeställningen om rytmik som musikpedagogisk metod kan varaen hjälp för danselever att närma sig musik eller ej.Via denna frågeställning ställs även frågan om det är viktigt för danselever att ha musikundervisning och varför.I studien presenteras rytmik som musikpedagogisk metod i korta drag, både från ett historiskt och prak-tiskt perspektiv.Ett annat ämne som bearbetas är hur musikundervisningen ser ut idag, vilket undersökts genom kursplaner från diverse högre dansutbildningar i Sverige. Slutsatsen är i korta drag att danselever på högre utbildningar inte behöver just rytmikunder-visning för att bli goda dansare. Det finns moment som bearbetas inom rytmik som kan vara gynnande i danselevers musikundervisning, men det krävs mer än en utbildning till rytmikpe-dagog för att täcka de behov som danselever enligt denna studie bör få tillfredsställda. Resul-tatet i denna studie visar tydligt att musikundervisning är mycket viktig för dansele-ver.Undervisningen bör anpassas efter dans som konstform och utförasmed medvetenhet om-dess konstnärliga utveckling samtutgå från dansens nära förhållande till musik.
