Abstract
A selected group of students' perception of their own musical development in playing Brazilian music. - A study for 6 weeks.
How does swedish secondary school students develope their musical and rythmical skills when playing brazilian music during a period of six weeks? I will in this thesis explore the students' own thoughts about their musical development. I will also talk about the ability of using Brazilian music as a method of learning more complex rythmic structures, andcompare the use of learning music by ear versus learning music by notation. In the results, the reader can learn about the students’ progress and how they further develope their musical and rhytmical abilities. As a conclusion the reader can see that in this specific... case, the students’ answers confirm the expectations I had going in to this project. The students’ own personal experience is that they after the six weeks felt an improvement in their musical and rhythmical ability, although lacking the proper tools to further analyze their experience. In the future I believe further research can give us more general results showing that Brazilian music can work as an educational tool when it comes to teaching music and rhytm. (Less)
Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
