- Title: Teachers’ thoughts of ensemble leading in folk music with mixed instrument groups.
The research question is: How do some experienced teachers describe what is important with their work as a teacher in a folkmusic ensemble? The 5 main themes being asked about are folkmusic and folkmusic ensemble as a method, what is important for teaching in folk music ensemble concerning aim and goals, methods in relation to harmony/melody, methods in mixed instrument groups, group dynamics. The result is that there are no borders to which kind of settings they can teach. One characteristic with folk music is that you very fast in the process can get to the point of making music together as an ensemble. Folk music is also special in that the...
