"Men musik är viktigt" - En fallstudie av musikundervisningens värde i en skandinavisk skolverksamhet

Abstract (Swedish)
Syftet med denna studie är att nå nya kunskaper gällande värdering av ämnet musik, sett utifrån olika infallsvinklar. Studien syftar även till att belysa musikens påverkan på en skolmiljö och att understryka musikens värde i skolan. Studien utfördes vid en norsk grundskola i Spanien och bygger på kvalitativa intervjuer av fokusgrupper bestående av elever från olika årskurser, samt intervjuer med musiklärare och rektor. Resultatet av studien visar hur de olika informanterna ser på ämnet musik och hur de värderar det utifrån egna erfarenheter och åsikter. The study also intends to investigate the effect of music on a school environment and to examine its value in school. The study was made at a Norwegian school in Spain and it is based on qualitative interviews with focus groups including students from different grades and interviews with a music teacher and the headmaster. The results of the study show what the different informants think about music and how they value the subject based on their own experiences and opinions. All informants emphasize the value of music in school and in which ways music can contribute to progress, both individually and as a group.
