- Our purpose of the thesis is to provide insights into how consultants, who are employed by a consulting company but perform their work at the client organization, experience belongingness at work. We do not aim to find a rational explanation or one truth of how consultants experience belongingness at work. Instead, we are interested in how multiple understandings of experiencing belongingness may emerge.
The organization seems not to be the primary source to experience belongingness at work. Instead, consultants’ belongingness appears to be experienced through multiple sources at both the employing company and the client organization.
