Anställningsbarhet – en studie om PA-studenters upplevda anställningsbarhet och begreppets betydelse i högre utbildning

Arbetsmarknaden har under de senaste decennierna genomgått stora förändringar och begreppet anställningsbarhet har blivit alltmer aktuellt. Syftet med uppsatsen var att få ökad kunskap om begreppet anställningsbarhet samt åskådliggöra vad som krävs för att bli anställningsbar. I studien undersöktes hur studenter upplever sin anställningsbarhet samt huruvida val av universitet, inriktning och kurser påverkats av fenomenet. Vidare undersöktes om olika faktorer, så som ambitionsnivå, universitetsåtagande samt arbetserfarenhet påverkar upplevd anställningsbarhet. Vidare undersöktes om olika faktorer, så som ambitionsnivå, universitetsåtagande samt arbetserfarenhet påverkar upplevd anställningsbarhet. Deltagare i studien var 75 PA-studenter vid Lunds universitet, vilket innebar en svarsfrekvens på 32 procent. Metoden som användes var kvantitativ i form av surveyundersökning, men innehöll även vissa kvalitativa inslag. Resultatet visade att studenterna generellt upplever en hög grad av anställningsbarhet och att ökad anställningsbarhet är ett vanligt motiv vid olika val. Variablerna ambition och universitetsåtagande korrelerade positivt med upplevd anställningsbarhet och predicerade även denna variabel till viss del. Ingen signifikant skillnad upptäcktes gällande upplevd anställningsbarhet beroende av extrajobb. Slutsatsen angående hur man kan öka studenters anställningsbarhet var i linje med tidigare forskning som visat att all undervisning bör ha arbetslivsanknytning samt arbetsmarknadsrelevans. Utbildningen bör även fokusera på att utveckla studenters generiska färdigheter. (Less)

Working life has undergone drastic changes during the last decades and the concept of employability has been given more attention. The purpose of the thesis was to gain knowledge of the concept employability and to illustrate what is required to be employable. The study examined perceived employability among students and whether their choice of university, orientation and courses were affected by the phenomenon. The purpose of the thesis was to gain knowledge of the concept employability and to illustrate what is required to be employable. The study examined perceived employability among students and whether their choice of university, orientation and courses were affected by the phenomenon. Further investigated was whether various factors such as ambition, university commitment and work experience can affect perceived employability. Participants in the study were 75 HR-students at The University of Lund, with a response rate at 32 percent. The method used was quantitative in the form of Survey, but also included qualitative elements. The result showed that the students generally experienced a high level of perceived employability and that increasing employability is a common motive when it comes to different choices. The variables ambition and university commitment were positively correlated with perceived employability and could predict perceived employability to some extent. No significant difference was found in perceived employability due to work beside studies. The conclusion concerning how to enhance students employability was in line with previous research, stating that all education should include work related activities and have labour market relevance.
