Abstract
Problem / Background: Today more and more people suffer because of different types of stress at work, school and home. We live in a world that places high demands on us and wants us to constantly learn, develop and perform in various areas. Stress and difficult situations can even affect our learning and reduce the opportunities for growth and development. Because of that, we need to find ways and tools that can help us to relate to and handle difficult situations. This is where the learning processes in Mindfulness can be used.

Aims and Objectives: The aim of the study was to explore participant’s experiences of mindfulness and to see if mindfulness can help to create the conditions for learning. My questions were: How do participants perceive mindfulness and its effects? What is the relationship between mindfulness and learning processes? What is the participant’s motivation to use mindfulness in everyday life?
Brief description of the essay approaches and study design:
A phenomenological qualitative method and abductive theories has been used in which six participants were interviewed. The theoretical points used were conscious learning, learning, informal learning, reflection, experiential learning and motivation theory.
Conclusions / Results: This study provided a greater knowledge and understanding of the participant’s experiences of mindfulness and how it influenced and helped them to create the conditions for their own learning. Based on the results mindfulness can help reduce stress, create calm and relaxation. Furthermore, training in mindfulness can be seen as a way to strengthen focus and concentration. Based on the results mindfulness can also create space and opportunity for reflection and acceptance. These abilities, reflection and acceptance have proved to be key points in the learning processes. Finally, the study has shown that mindfulness can be implemented in everyday activities to be used. On the other hand, lack of time and discipline, according to the results makes it difficult for the mindfulness to be used in everyday life. However there is also an ignorance and lack of knowledge around the concept that creates different challenges. (Less)
