Abstract
Increasing rates of unemployment are becoming a major global issue nowadays, thus increasing uncertainty for young people. Creating new ventures and becoming entrepreneurs can serve as ‘long run’ career solutions to survive in high unemployment situations for students. This study aims to explore direct and indirect effects of emotional competence on entrepreneurial learning through multiple mediators of motivation with autonomous motivation predicted as the most favorable mediator. Additionally, individualistic and collectivistic culture preference investigation is conducted to see the differences in emotional competence and entrepreneurial learning. This study involved 566 Indonesian vocational high-school students ranged between 16 to 21... (More)

This study involved 566 Indonesian vocational high-school students ranged between 16 to 21 years old (M=17.58, SD=.78). Results revealed that there were significant direct and indirect effects of emotional competence on entrepreneurial learning. Furthermore, the specific mediator of autonomous motivation showed as the favorable mediator rather than controlled motivation and amotivation. The theoretical implication of this research, as well as practical insights and future research directions, are discussed. (Less)
