- Abstract
- This thesis is investigating how teachers and students experience their time at music schools in Sweden and Finland. The purpose of this study is to see how teachers and students in both countries see their education, with their structural differences. The main aims of both Finnish and Swedish music schools is not to get the students to apply to higher music education. The goals for the students are very much influenced by their teacher. An interesting difference that appeared was that the level of demand is experienced as higher amongst students in Finland but higher amongst teachers in Sweden. There are also big differences in the usage of resources. The areas of focus in this study are the view of the classical music tradition, the goal... (More)

Through interviewing both teachers and previous students from both lands, I have received results which show that the general opinion in many ways is the same although the structure in the music school is different in the countries. - Abstract (Swedish)
(More)
