Fem nyckelord: revisorsprofession, auktoriserad revisor, professionalism, utbildningskrav, kompetens
(Less)

Purpose: The purpose is to investigate whether the auditor's new training requirements for authorization can be expected to affect the professionalism, on the basis of an ideal type of a profession.
Methodology: In order to fulfil the purpose of the study, interviews and comments on official report are used. However, the interviews and comments on official report say nothing about the actual effects followed by the proposal.
Theoretical perspectives: By combining two different types of professional models, a combined ideal type has been developed. With the combined ideal type as a tool, it was established that the auditor, before the introduction of the new education requirements, fulfils the criterias of being a profession. Furthermore, a discussion was conducted under the new regulations, where the possible effects were applied and analyzed with the combined ideal type.
Empirical foundation: Interviews and comments on official report constitutes the empirical material of the study. Possible effects from the referrals and the interviews have been identified. Conclusions: Since some knowledge and skills are lost and that business administration is no longer the main focus of the education, criterion two of six were not met to the same extent as before. Lastly, a comparison was made of the two results to see if the proposal resulted in changes in professionalism. Given these reasons, the professionalism is expected to decrease, but remains to be defined as a profession since the criterias are still fulfilled. (Less)
