- Abstract
- Introduction: This study presents an investigation of how authors of fanfiction seeks and generates information in their respective fandoms from a Serious Leisure Perspective.
Method: The data has been gathered using seven semistructured interviews and analysed qualitatively. The participants of the study were all active members at the fanfiction website Archive of our own, AO3.
Analysis: Empirical material was gathered using video recordings, email conversations, and transcriptions of the collected interviews. The data was analysed thematically.
Results: The results of the study revealed that in order to acquire information, the authors primarily use the original work, the Wiki, social media and Google. The authors are active...
