Syftet med den här studien är att undersöka vad en musikstudent lär sig i arbetet inför en examenskonsert samt examenskonsertens syfte i en musikhögskoleutbildning. Studien består av två delstudier där delstudie A behandlar en individuell förberedelseprocess inför en examenskonsert inom komposition och arrangering och där delstudie B undersöker tankarna hos tidigare kompositionsstudenter samt hos examinatorer av examenskonserter på musikhögskolan i Malmö.
I tidigare forskning behandlas relevanta begrepp som projektbaserat lärande, produkt, process, identitet, självständighet, motivation och musikaliskt lärande.

Syftet med den här studien är att undersöka vad en musikstudent lär sig i arbetet inför en examenskonsert samt examenskonsertens syfte i en musikhögskoleutbildning. Studien består av två delstudier där delstudie A behandlar en individuell förberedelseprocess inför en examenskonsert inom komposition och arrangering och där delstudie B undersöker tankarna hos tidigare kompositionsstudenter samt hos examinatorer av examenskonserter på musikhögskolan i Malmö.
I tidigare forskning behandlas relevanta begrepp som projektbaserat lärande, produkt, process, identitet, självständighet, motivation och musikaliskt lärande.
Delstudie A består av en aktionsforskning kring forskarens förberedelser inför sin examenskonsert. Metod för insamling av data utgör en forskningsdagbok.
Delstudie B utgår från en intervjustudie där informanterna består av två tidigare kompositionselever samt två examinatorer av examenskonserter vid musikhögskolan i Malmö.
Arbetet avslutas med en gemensam diskussion där studiernas resultat ställs mot varandra och mot tidigare forskning för att besvara studiens två övergripande forskningsfrågor. Studien redogör för olika exempel på lärdomar som kan utvinnas i arbetet inför en examenskonsert samt tankar om examenskonsertens syfte i en musikhögskoleutbildning. (Less)

Sub-study A consists of an action research on the researcher's preparation for his degree concert. A research diary will be the source for collecting data.
Sub-study B is based on an interview study where the informants consist of two previous composition students and two examiners of degree concerts at Malmö academy of music.
The thesis concludes with a joint discussion where the results of the studies and previous research literature are juxtaposed to answer the study's two overall questions of research. The study presents various examples of lessons learned in the work prior to a degree concert and thoughts about the degree concert's purpose in higher music education. (Less)
