Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

Abstract
The aim of this study was to examine how four eurythmics teachers’ define and describe eurythmics as a method for musical learning and how they relate to their former eurythmics education in their daily teaching. The study also explores how the structures of the tradition in which eurythmics are transmitted in music education may be understood through the descriptions made by the teachers. The data was collected through semi-structured interviews. The literature review presents a historical context to eurythmics in Swedish music education, describes the concept of eurhythmics as a method for teaching music and shortly defines the tradition of transmission in eurythmics. The study shows that the teachers have a consensus on the concept in... (More)

The literature review presents a historical context to eurythmics in Swedish music education, describes the concept of eurhythmics as a method for teaching music and shortly defines the tradition of transmission in eurythmics. The study shows that the teachers have a consensus on the concept in general, but that their descriptions differ in terms of extent and detail. Most of the teachers also have a strong connection to their education in general, however differences emerge related to the extent of their education. Moreover, the tradition of eurythmics in music education could be understood as aural and practical, with a strong association to the institutions were eurythmics are taught, and with a considerable impact from individual teachers.
