The documents used in the study are being analysed both quantitatively and qualitatively. With the aim of better understand how consultations are conducted but also to analyse citizens opinions about the plans, and if those can be connected to place attachment. The paper will pre-sent some earlier research on the topic, as well as present different theories which both will help in the analysis of the material and results thriving from the document analysis. From a delibera-tive perspective, the thesis concludes that there is a lack of deliberative methods in the planning process in Malmö city. It also uncovers that the citizens’ sentiments regarding the plans can often be connected to place attachment. The thesis suggests that deliberative methods during the plan-ning processes could help notice the citizens feelings and hidden knowledges about specific plac-es. (Less)
