The conclusion establishes that the phrasing of gender equality in the agenda is based on the social and political context in which it was created. The consequences that follow are that gender equality is reduced to be seen as a women's issue where women's positions worldwide become homogenized, and where men's roles are excluded. The study also shows that women’s potential today is left unused since women are categorized as a powerless group. This view on women is problematic in many ways, especially since this study shows that the world will not become sustainable if women keep getting excluded from decision making processes. (Less)
