Abstract
The rapid spread of the infectious disease Covid-19 caused inevitable need of hand sanitizing products. The public agencies are recommending frequent handwashing and sanitizing and the current awareness of the importance of hand disinfection of the public will remain assimilated and will most probably become part of the daily hygiene practises. However, a frequent use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers can cause skin irritation, dryness, itching and skin cracking. Under these circumstances, it is reasonable to assume that there is a market potential for a new product that will sanitize our hands and at the same time moisturize them so that the side effect from the frequent use of sanitizers will be avoided.

Under these circumstances, it is reasonable to assume that there is a market potential for a new product that will sanitize our hands and at the same time moisturize them so that the side effect from the frequent use of sanitizers will be avoided.
The main goal of this research is to understand the general needs of the market of sanitizers and identify new product opportunities. The research objectives are a sensory study with a human panel, physical measurements of the TEWL in order to see the hydration of the skin from the formulations and market analysis based on secondary data and primary data collected from the survey. The three formulations were made with Pickering emulsion using particles from quinoa starch and they were compared with Steriosol® hand sanitizer.
The results from the market analysis showed that there is a need and potential for a new, antiseptic and moisturizing 2-in-1 product on the market and the formulation that has the highest potential to meet the requirements from the target customers is PetOH TO (0.5:9.5). With a development of the moisturizing effect, texture, and odour of this formulation, the future product can be an offering that would give a high value to the consumers following the customer-value based marketing strategy taking a strong position against the offerings from the competitors.
