- Abstract (Swedish)

(Less) - Abstract
- The purpose of this qualitative study is to investigate how the subject of music, the

perspective as well as viewing the development from the music teacher´s perspective. By
conducting individual interviews with four music teachers, different aspects of everyday
life in the working environment practice become visible. From a sociocultural
perspective, putting the learning loop of man in a cultural context, by the aid of language
and artefacts, an analysis was formed using the narratives told by the teachers during the
interviews. By analyzing the interviews using thematic analysis, spoken contexts are
made visible through written language, thereby identifying the impact and effect the
digital tools have on the music teacher profession. Pending fifteen years of digitalization
in the Swedish school environment, the music teachers in this study have gradually
developed a knowledge and also registered the effects of digital tools being a part of the
music teacher profession environment. Also, they have developed a critical standpoint
towards pedagogical quality improvement and implementation of the digital tools being
part of everyday life as teachers of music. The development of digital tools is ongoing,
and the teachers in this study request organized peer learning programs and a common
ground on which to build knowledge to further deepen and secure the quality of music
teaching in Swedish schools. During the last fifteen years the development has been rapid,
and this will continue into the future of music education and affect music teachers for
many years to come. (Less)
