Henri Lefebvre & production of (Cyber) - space

Abstract
Most people are somehow dependent on digital devices to make their everyday life work. Ever since the advent of the Internet, the digital world has become larger and more complex with each passing decade. This study examines whether it is possible to apply Henri Lefebvre's theory "Production of Space" to a Metaverse under construction. All the people who have been interviewed in the study have mainly discussed three different topics that can all be analyzed based on Lefebvre's theory. The results of the interviews and the netnographic observation shows that power structures and capitalist ideas can be transferred from the physical world to the digital world, but also the feeling of togetherness and Community beyond time and space.
