- Abstract
- This thesis aims to explore whether an artistic creative type model can be applicable in an
entrepreneurial setting. Meta Wagner’s model was selected as the artistic creative type model in

performing semi-structured interviews with selected cases, we carefully analyze the data to
identify similarities and differences compared with Wagner’s artistic creative types and present
the aspects that are applicable to entrepreneurs. Thematic analysis and aggregate dimension
methods are applied in the process of data analysis. The outcome of the study would facilitate the
entrepreneur in understanding their motivation to innovate and how they capitalize and enrich their
creative process based on their type.
The finding shows that the artistic creative type model by Wagner can be applicable in the
entrepreneurial setting with some limitations. Considering motivation to create, the motivation for
autonomy, financial reward, and freedom and flexibility are presented in the entrepreneurial
context. When it comes to creative process behavior, both the Game Changer and Artisan
entrepreneurs share a common approach in the process of innovation creation including building
on an existing solution, perspective adjustment, and collective collaboration. These creative
process behaviors of entrepreneurs are also aligned with the artistic creators in the creative process.
This study contributes to the new take on how to investigate the topic of creativity in
entrepreneurship by applying the contemporary model of Wagner built on the typological aspect (Less)
