För att nå Sveriges transportpolitiska mål är krävs det att fler väljer cykeln som huvudsakligt färdmedel. Genom att prioritera cyklisters trafiksäkerhet och framkomlighet ökar attraktiviteten vilket gör att fler väljer att cykla. I denna studie har tre korsningar i Malmö analyserats med avseende på trafiksäkerhet och framkomlighet där syftet var att undersöka hur trafiksäkerhet och framkomlighet kan öka för cyklister i korsningar samt förstå hur Malmö stad arbetar med cykelplanering. I denna studie har tre korsningar i Malmö analyserats med avseende på trafiksäkerhet och framkomlighet där syftet var att undersöka hur trafiksäkerhet och framkomlighet kan öka för cyklister i korsningar samt förstå hur Malmö stad arbetar med cykelplanering. Detta gjordes genom fältstudier i de valda korsningarna som bestod av ostrukturerade observationer, väjningsstudie och hastighetsmätning. Vidare utfördes en litteratur- och intervjustudie. Resultatet från de ostrukturerade observationerna visade att de fanns brister i framkomlighet och trafiksäkerhet i de tre korsningarna. Väjningsstudien visade att majoriteten av motorfordonen väjde i cirkulationsplatserna oavsett om det var en cykelpassage eller cykelöverfart. Hastighetsmätningarna visade att motorfordon i samtliga korsningar höll tillåten hastighet, under 30 km/h, oberoende hastighetsdämpning eller inte. Intervjustudien visade att Malmö stad jobbar mycket med trafiksäkerhet och framkomlighet för cyklister. Ett resultat i studien är att de valda korsningarnas utformning till viss del följer gällande rekommendationer, krav och mål från handböcker och planeringsdokument men att de även till stor del också har bristande utformning. Utformningarna stämmer inte överens med mycket av det som forskningen förespråkar. Resultatet från genomförda studier visade att trafiksäkerheten är god i de studerade korsningarna medan framkomligheten kan förbättras. (Less)

In order to achieve Sweden's transport policy goals, it is required that more people choose the bicycle as their main mode of transport. By prioritizing cyclists' traffic safety and level of service, attractiveness increases, which means that more people choose to cycle. In this study, three intersections in Malmö have been analyzed with regard to traffic safety and level of service, where the purpose was to investigate how traffic safety and level of service can
increase for cyclists at intersections and understand how the city of Malmö works with bicycle planning. This was done through field studies at the selected intersections, consisting of unstructured observations, yield studies and speed measurements. Furthermore, literature and interview studies were performed. The results from the unstructured observations showed that there were deficiencies in the levels of level of service and traffic safety at the three intersections. The yield study showed that the majority of motor vehicles did yield in the roundabouts, even when not required by the applicable traffic regulations. The speed measurements showed that motor vehicles at all intersections kept the permitted speed, below 30 km/h, regardless of the presence of physical speed reduction measures. The interview study showed that the city of Malmö works extensively with traffic safety and level of service for cyclists. One result of the study is that the design of the selected intersections to some extent follows current recommendations, requirements and goals from manuals and planning documents. At the same time, the intersections have some deficiencies because the designs do not correspond to what the research advocates, such as colored bike lanes and prioritized bicycles. The results from completed studies showed that traffic safety is good at the intersections studied, while level of service can be improved. (Less)
