Moreover, Chinese ambassador Gui Congyou’s tenure in Sweden, between the years 2017-2021, was chosen as a designated research point. In light of this, the research purpose was to scrutinize this aggravated occurrence through foreign policy analysis; carefully chosen analytical aspects of foreign policy analysis were put to use. Vis-á-vis, a directed qualitative content analysis was applied, where the theory was used to create analytical categories, in which the empirical data was utilized during the progress of this theory consuming case study.
Conclusively, final results indicate that Chinese attempts to implement their agenda through coercive behavior resonate with theories encompassing foreign policy analysis. Likewise, foreign policy mistakes are not regarded as failures if they succeed in the far future. China finds implementing controversies acceptable, but how far will China be able to go? The outcome is ambiguous, as the diplomatic terrain has become increasingly obstructed through boorish behavior. Thereby possibly hindering future Chinese successes. (Less)
