Abstract
The purpose of this study is to gain a deeper understanding of how heteronormativity plays out in queer employees' experiences in the workplace. To broaden the discussion of genuine inclusion within organizations, we aim to critically examine the underlying norms in the workplace. The theoretical perspective of our study discusses literature on Diversity & Inclusion, heteronormativity, microaggressions, and silencing in relation to the workplace. Additionally, the study is influenced by the conceptual frameworks of Foucault (1978) and Butler (1990). This study follows a poststructuralist tradition through the lens of queer theory.
