Abstract
The aim of this study was to examine social workers' experiences with collaboration and confidentiality when working with youth crime. A qualitative approach was employed, and five semi-structured interviews were conducted to investigate the research questions. Thematic analysis was used to analyse the data, which revealed both obstacles and opportunities in collaborating with third-party organisations. The theoretical starting points for the study were organisational and collaboration theory. The findings indicated various forms of collaboration and factors crucial to effective interactions, as well as those that prevented collusion. Specifically, the degree of integration was found to be paramount in determining the success of... (More)

The theoretical starting points for the study were organisational and collaboration theory. The findings indicated various forms of collaboration and factors crucial to effective interactions, as well as those that prevented collusion. Specifically, the degree of integration was found to be paramount in determining the success of collaborative efforts, with institutional logic emerging as a significant determinant of collaboration and conflict dynamics. We believe this study will contribute to a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities of collaboration in social work practice. (Less)
