Inside ESG Consulting’s Black Box
(2023) BUSN49 20231Department of Business Administration
- Abstract
- Our study found new interpretations of the term ESG, and the interconnectedness of some interpretations that have not been established before. Furthermore, our findings reveal that ESG consultants learn on the job and share knowledge through their Communities of Practice, because they have a lack of knowledge of the term ESG, interpreting that they cannot be an expert. Besides, we add to previous literature that ESG consultants adopt the role of a teacher when assisting clients to achieve the desired positive impact.
