In summary, it can be concluded that Evenemangsstranden in Åhus can be considered a public space when not used for events, but during event periods, there is a partial privatization of the beach. This includes the installation of fences, admission fees, and restricted access for the general public. The privatization is partly motivated by the economic benefits of tourism for both Åhus Beach AB and Kristianstad municipality. The events generate revenue for businesses and have positive effects on employment. However, privatization can result in the exclusion of certain groups and limited access to the space. Fees and physical boundaries can be obstacles for those who lack financial means, leading to the exclusion of some children and their families. Additionally, the question of power and decision-making over the space is questioned due to the private-public partnership at Evenemangsstranden. (Less)
