- Abstract
- This study investigates the perceptions and implementation of AI ethics principles among AI practitioners in the Bangladeshi IT sector. Through qualitative research, including semi-structured interviews with key informants, the study reveals significant variations in awareness and application of AI ethics principles such as fairness, privacy, transparency, robustness, and explainability. The findings highlight several challenges, including socio-economic barriers, a lack of formal training programs, and insufficient government regulations, which hinder the consistent application of ethical principles. Future research could involve testing the existing frameworks such as ECCOLA, RESOLVEDD, and HROE within Bangladeshi IT organizations and exploring the effectiveness of various regulatory frameworks and their enforcement mechanisms.
