- Abstract
- The aim of this study is to critically examine the strategic challenges in an early-stage multi-stakeholder innovation project, which has the aim to develop a novel solution. A qualitative single case study consisting of seven semi-structured interviews were conducted to identify strategic challenges as well as key success factors. Furthermore, an abductive approach was adopted in order to elaborate on previous literature. Finally, the collected data was analyzed by utilizing thematic analysis. Challenges identified were establishing a common vision, progressing without a clear target customer in mind, slow progression due to not being able to enforce deadlines and balancing between the commercial interest and social benefit.
