- Navigating conflicting interests in regards to land usage is an essential task in the field of urban planning. When the planner's task changes however to become a job of identifying the best available central location for new large scale infrastructure, the navigating instead turns into a question of who is to be displaced. This study examines a case study in Lund, Sweden, where a new generation hospital is to displace practitioners and associations of various sports from their collective city owned sporting grounds. The study finds that the municipality and the county, in violation with the right to the city, prioritized the identified needs of the hospital above all else and because of that took no steps to include the associations before the decision to evict them had been made.
