Abstract
This paper investigates Carmen Laforet's Nada through the perspective of censorship. It focuses on the historical context and the machinery of the censorship process in Francoist Spain. The research aims to analyse how Laforet's literary style creates an opportunity for publication despite the critical touch in terms of content. The analytical part takes as its starting point the fluid theory of allegory as suggested by Walter Benjamin. The idea is that such a theory can reinforce the hypothesis that allegory is used in the work by the author as a way of criticising the decadence in Spain at that time and simultaneously avoiding censorship. This paper investigates Carmen Laforet's Nada through the perspective of censorship. It focuses on the historical context and the machinery of the censorship process in Francoist Spain. The research aims to analyse how Laforet's literary style creates an opportunity for publication despite the critical touch in terms of content. Este trabajo investiga la obra Nada de Carmen Laforet a través de la perspectiva de censura. Se centra
en el contexto histórico y la maquinaria del proceso de censura en una España franquista. La
investigación tiene como objetivo analizar cómo el estilo literario de Laforet crea una oportunidad de
publicación a pesar del toque crítico en cuanto al contenido. La parte analítica toma como punto de
partida la teoría fluida de la alegoría como sugiere Walter Benjamin. La idea es que dicha teoría pueda

Este trabajo investiga la obra Nada de Carmen Laforet a través de la perspectiva de censura. Se centra
en el contexto histórico y la maquinaria del proceso de censura en una España franquista. La
investigación tiene como objetivo analizar cómo el estilo literario de Laforet crea una oportunidad de
publicación a pesar del toque crítico en cuanto al contenido. La parte analítica toma como punto de
