Research Questions: How can projects and project management be used to develop and increase awareness and involvement surrounding sustainable cities for urban stakeholders? What are the views and attitudes surrounding H22 City Expo a year later from those involved? How did the project management of H22 City Expo influence the process and outcomes?

Methodology: A qualitative study where the empirical findings have been collected through semi-structured interviews. 17 interviews were conducted with stakeholders with varying connections to the H22 project.

Results: This study examines sustainable urban projects with a focus on implementation, management, and marketing. Using the H22 City Expo as a case, found the expo’s scope and timing appropriate, while others did not. The project managementimpacted outcomes, hindering communication due to its broad scope. However, positive results emerged, fostering new collaborations and enhancing Helsingborg’s reputation as an innovativ city. Future projects should learn from these findings, ensuring clearer goals and improved stakeholder involvement for successful sustainability awareness in cities. The study emphasises
learning from mistakes and enhancing communication in future urban sustainability projects. (Less)
