Oh My God, Verkligen? English Code-switching by Swedish speakers online

Abstract
This study investigates code-switching by Swedish English speakers in text-based online discourse. Although many studies have been devoted to CS and some to text-based online discourse, there is a gap in research regarding Swedish English CS in this context. This study fills the gap using comments from Swedish YouTube short-form videos, which were placed into 6 categories based on what the switch was made for, such as to make emphatic interjections, or to make quotes. A total of 3753 comments were collected and examined.
