- Abstract (Swedish)
(Less) - Abstract

The work is based on a combination of literature review, interviews with network operators, and simulations performed in DIgSILENT PowerFactory. A representative network model is developed to analyze how the connection of an industrial load, in the range of tens of megawatts, affects loading conditions, voltage levels, and overall system performance under both normal operation and selected contingency scenarios.
The results show that transformer capacity is often a limiting factor in the studied cases, while voltage levels remain within acceptable limits. The analysis also highlights the importance of considering network strength, redundancy, and practical design choices when evaluating new connections. Furthermore, differences between requested and actual power usage are identified as an important uncertainty in network planning.
The study concludes that the connection of large industrial customers requires a balance between technical constraints, system reliability, and long-term planning. The findings provide a practical understanding of how industrial connections impact electrical networks and which factors are most critical in the decision-making process. (Less)
