Gendered Bicycling Experiences and the Role of Infrastructure: A Case Study of Santiago, Chile

Abstract
Most gendered research on cycling has been conducted in the Global North, leaving out the experiences of other countries. Chile, in the context of mobility, has been recognised in the region for its significant steps towards sustainability; however, it still lacks when it comes to cycling, and, according to previous studies, the gender gap in Santiago remains under 30 per cent for women. This thesis aimed to bring visibility to gendered experiences and challenges in cycling in Santiago, Chile.
